Depends on which games you want to play. For csgo it should be fine.

if you upgrade from i3 the i5 is great for cs go and most of the games will play ok.

Its good for cs and many games.
For cpu intensive games with many players like arma or battlefield its to weak thou.
I know it because i had a i54670k until 2months ago.

dude sorry i just get mad when i hear about the overpriced 10th gen

10 th gen is not over priced the 10100 is slightly faster and 200 dollars cheaper. So instead of spending 300 dollars on an old processor get the 10100, a cheap 75 dollar mobo, 75 dollar 16 gb ram and a 50 dollar ssd.keep your gpu power supply and case. Move windows to ssd with games.
This is 100 percent a better/faster build, and cheaper.
But yes if you want to spend 300 on a outdated cpu then by all means go ahead.

i was just pointing out that as it stands intel is on 10th gen now, and you are asking about a 4th gen cpu, its like asking should i get an xbox 360 when the new xbox series x is out

if you feel its better for you, then go for it, but as a heads up, whilst im still on a 4th gen 4790k even im considering jumping ship to a better cpu as its now 6 gens out of date and it was outdated when i got it in 2016

maybe you should explain what you're going from to get an improvement out of this cpu

NO. You can get latest i3 for 100€ and it will be better than i7 from 4xxx or even 5xxx series, let alone i5 OR be smart and go for ryzen.
