Just imagine being so insecure that you feel the need to play in a lower skill group so that you can feel good about yourself and your ability. It's honestly just petty and I feel bad for anyone who has this kind of pathological requirement to be unfairly better than other people.

I'm not talking about people who are queuing with their friends that happen to be in silver, I'm talking about people who make second accounts with the sole purpose of playing in a lower rank than their own.

The rank system exists for a reason. People circumventing it should be reported and banned for cheating.

I think smurfs are ok. Before the rank system was introduced and CS mostly played in LAN, the better players are recognized, respected and having lots of viewers behind their seats. People talked about them, e.g. wow I challenged Godly player X today and the experience is great. There is a positive spirit in the community.

Today players are insecure, negative and always accusing / blaming the other players. I think the rank system is not perfect and is probably the issue..

Play long enough and you will have someone of elite rank on your team. You will see that you might as well have a cheater on your team. The outcome is the same. The other team get utterly smashed.
