That´s why this system would be a bad idea.
It's highly likely that Valve collect info like you've mentioned and utilise it in Trust Factor. Means to an end.
... Even if it eliminated 1% of people (who wouldn't know, or be bothered to, spoof their MAC), that would still be hundreds, or in all likelihood even thousands of cheaters less. These days it seems that there are dozens per day, even though the ban messages are coming through for me in CS:GO again (after a brief pause, recently).
Valorant already tried using Hardware ID ban.
look what happens in the end
a lot of people complain and the Developers of Valorant has to undo it.
if it failed for Valorant, then it means it won't work at all.
so in this case, ip address and mac address ban will also never work at all.
It still works passively for TF anyway.
