the amount of FPS increase if you go get SSD and replace HDD is not that much at all.

Using an SSD drive does not mean more frames per second in games

SSD drive does not increase the maximum number of frames per second that you get in games. If you want more frames per second, you should first invest in a better video card, and then into a better processor, and more RAM.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

for loading times especially when ti comes to games like CS:GO, PUBG, Valorant, Dota 2........etc SSD is better than HDD.
HDD is old in 2020... HDD is like win 10 32bit :D all use now ssd 64bit systems

Your fps depend on your GPU, CPU and RAM.
For having an HDD you might only get more frametime spikes (stutters).
Get an SSD only if your other hardware is enough for CS:GO and you're having freezes and you're hoping to fix them.
And taking into account it's a laptop - if it overheats you will have fps drops, an SSD cannot fix it.

By my experience - CS:GO will still have microfreezes, even with an SSD and overall a PC that should breeze past it. If you really hope to fix microfreezes - don't even bother.

SSDs are so cheap there is no excuse to still be using hdd.

you are incorrect.

HDD is still being used for 64 bit desktop computers.

i'm sure people knows about desktop and laptops having SSD and HDD combine.

For workstations which is the exception not the rule

so can a ssd actually fix lag spikes, i heard that ssd produce less heat which might also decrese the overheat. im having around 100 fps when playing but while too much thing is going at once , my fps starts dropping and its very unstable

you have net_graph 1 set?

The question was if it increases fps. As a person that first had only an HDD and then bought an SSD, I can say "No, an SSD does NOT increase fps". 320-330 fps in https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=500334237 without and then with an SSD.

And if a person has to choose if to buy a better CPU/GPU/RAM for CS:GO or to buy a worse one and an SSD - they should buy a better CPU/GPU/RAM, an SSD can be bought later and just added to a PC, unlike a CPU/GPU/RAM.

256gig qlc is cheaper than any of those and will be over all benefit.

yep

The data there should tell you whether it's frame lag or net lag. Players often confuse the 2.

Again: an SSD does NOT increase fps, it only MIGHT decrease SOME microfreezes, unlike a better CPU/GPU/RAM that DO increase fps. So if a person has money only on a specific rig and adding an SSD to it means downgrading CPU/GPU/RAM - it's better NOT to add an SSD for CS:GO.

I'll still opt for the ssd

HDD is still common these days, not like 32 bits

And will lose some actual fps by buying a worse cpu/gpu/ram?
I bought my PC like 1.5 years ago, I had some freezes in CS:GO, a couple of months ago I bought a SATA3 SSD (and a good one!), installed Windows and Steam and CS:GO to it, now I have the same fps and still have freezes in CS:GO, but they're a bit less heavy than before.

So I did not downgrade my rig for the sake of SSD, and after buying an SSD I got pretty much nothing - yeah my PC loads only 20 seconds instead of 50, but in CS:GO it made next to no difference. And you're just afraid of being booed by underaged marketing victims that are willing to LOSE fps by buying a worse rig but with SSD.

As for the OP - it may be better to sell that laptop and buy a better PC instead of wasting money on an SSD that will not fix any of his fps problems in CS:GO.

>good one

List it
