CS:GO tabbing out when launching, can't tab back in. Help

[I don't skip patrols]

A sort of temporary solution, if i spam click on the csgo icon in my task bar i can tab back in.

I would still be grateful if anyone has a permanent fix though

It may be possible that some other program you are running at the same time is causing it, try and close out of most of the programs you have open and running in the background via the hidden icons on the task bar.

try to add -windowed in set launch options and see if you can boot into the game. If you can, then there is something preventing you from playing csgo in full-screen and most likely you won't be able to run anything else in full-screen because that app restricts you.

probably a bit late but this is for people who might sitll have the issue. its because you are on streched fullscreen, do -windowed on launch options change ur res to 16:9 and your native resolution and then apply fullscreen from here you can they apply 4:3 or whatever other resolution you play on with full screen without it tabbing you out.

Another tip for posterity: If your taskbar is not at the default position (bottom), you should try to unlock it, but it back on the bottom and then relaunch csgo. If it then works as aspected, closing csgo and rearranging the taskbar fixed it for me.

It happens because of the difference in resolution between game and desktop. It must be the same size. Set your desktop resolution as it in the game, then set the game's resolution to what you are usually use on desktop and bring back your desktop resolution to your default. For the people who will face this trouble in the future.

This is not a fix, 1. this does not work for me even after restarting the pc multiple times and usimg different game installs 2. i shouldn't have to do this everytime i wanna play the game

same just started happening like 2 weeks ago,just now the game started fine tabbed out and cant back in,cant really restart 5 times just for cs to work ffs

it honestly just could be a foreign problem in the background caused by another program or that the game has a corrupted file. You might want to just press alt+enter when the game is launching
