does anyone else use his thumb for the SHIFT and CTRL keys?

so it has recently come to my attention that im the only one that uses the thumb on those buttons, i have a few questions:
1) does anyone else do it?
2) should i try to stop (it does hurt my finger sometimes)
3) if you do also have this problem does it hurt you?

hopefully i can find some answers but it seems as if everyone i tell this too gets shocked, thanks in advanced

EDIT 4 YEARS LATER: ive stopped doing it 3 years ago my thumb does not hurt anymore :)

Shift & Ctrl is easier to reach with your pinky finger.

thumb usually goes to the spacebar, and shift and ctrl is usually hit with the pinky, id like to see how you even hit those with your thumb lol

i so use the thumb for the space bar but also for the shift and ctrl
i just move my finger from one to the other under the hand while folding it, thats why it hurts sometimes

You could remap your keys for using your thumb for ctrl and shift

forward S
left Q
back A
right Z

rotate keyboard 90 degrees (counterclockwise).

Unless you are playing on WSAD with left hand or Arrows with right hand I have no idea how could you put thumb on CTRL or Shift

im pretty sure it started like aged 7 while i was playing minecraft and getting used to the ctrl key for sprinting

it didnt really hurt, was just super uncomfortable, not something i plan on doing often
