Do I lose less elo if I surrender at say 0-5?
The enemy team is just objectively dominating us (and they turned out to be 3 ranks above us). Is it worth surrendering at 0-5 than to take say a 3-16 loss?

Yes you will lose elo, as for how much elo we don't know since elo isn't shown.

Edit: pretty sure a surrender will give you a chunk of elo loss, if im not wrong elo is based off of rounds loss or won

loss is a loss
I used to surrender games. I deranked faster and played harder opponents in lower ranks.
Valve definitely punishes you because everyone would surrender as soon as they started losing and games would not finish.
