CS:GO fps drops from 300 to 120 when I open Streamlabs OBS, and then to 100 fps when I start streaming
Hello everyone,

I have been streaming on Twitch for a while now, with absolutely no issues using Streamlabs OBS. All of a sudden, my performance has gotten terrible, and I simply cannot stream and play anymore. There has been updates to Windows 10, CS:GO and Streamlabs OBS lately - my issues might have started after one of these. I am confident that I have not manually changed anything before these issues started.

Relevant specs: AMD Ryzen 5 1600, GeForce GTX 1060(Driver version 397,64), 16GB DDR4-3200, ASUS ROG PG279Q 1440p G-Sync monitor
CS:GO Video settings: https://i.imgur.com/g241LMQ.jpg
NVIDIA Settings: https://i.imgur.com/DqCMYpb.png

Testing was done with all others programs on my computer closed, after a reboot. Testing on the same map at same place etc.

Streamlabs OBS closed:
FPS around 300
GPU 3D Utilisation at ~70%
CPU Utilisation at ~25%
RAM usage 4/16 GB

Streamlabs OBS open (not streaming):
FPS around 120
GPU 3D Utilisation at ~85%
CPU Utilisation at ~30%
RAM usage 4/16 GB

Streamlabs OBS open (not streaming):
FPS around 100
GPU 3D Utilisation at ~85%
CPU Utilisation at ~25%
RAM usage 4/16 GB

Speedtest: ~90 Mbps, doesn't change with streaming on/off

Can anyone help me fix this?

Additional question; I always feel like my graphics is stuttering when I am jumping near obstacles, like boxes etc. It is the only place I see it. Anyone know what this is?

TLDR; My CS:GO fps drops from 300 to 120 when I open Streamlabs OBS, and then to 100 fps when I start streaming.

There's nothing bad about 100 fps, it's still super smooth. It only starts to lag when the fps is below 60. 100 FPS should be completely playable, I don't know why you're complaining.

There’s a giant difference between 300 fps and 100, 100 isn’t super smooth.

Anything 60+ is smooth IMO

The FPS needs to stay above the refreshrate at all times (144 in my case)
Nevertheless, regardless of the actual FPS value, the game is completely unplayable now, and stuttering like mad.

Had an i7-7700k and GTX 1080. FPS dropped to ~120 as well. It's completely normal.

You should try to encode with your cpu only when you have more than 4 threads (CSGO can maximum use 4 due to it's limited source engine). I upgraded to an 8700k (6 Cores) an I've no drops at all.

In CSGO : not at all
In any other games : yes

It reserves a portion of the frames for steamlabs and other software, just like in the old days when you wanted to fraps 1.6 and you had 26 fps instead of 51, it roughly takes half just so you can get a decent video. And also, you dont even experience 120 fps unless you have a 240Hz monitor. If you do then gratz
the current windows update completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ csgo and streaming. have an ocd 6700k gtx1080 and have a hard time getting above 90fps. hopefully new micro updates fix the problem but they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up badly
