It's because of "Upgraded Windows compile toolchain for Windows client and dedicated server binaries"

Dear Steam,

After the last update, we " the people with windows XP" as operation system, can't play the games that we have. Can you please get a fix with, which we the users of windows XP don't need to change our software.

Thanks

You could have seen this coming for 3 years.

You're using an OS released 15 years ago that hasn't been supported by the manufacturer in 3 years. You should be on your knees thanking Jesus you've gotten by this long.

Guys, please stick to the topic, I didn't ask you how old the operation system is, I did not ask for information when the support was cut off, I am simply asking Steam to get a fix, for something that was working before the last update.

I do not want to change my windows xp because steam has made a restriction on their part without reason!

Your operating system isn't even worth game updates for. Maybe this will give you incentive to get out of 2004 and into 2017.

Microsoft made the restriction. Support for old libraries is dropping over time. Valve needs to upgrade to be able to comply with that.

Valve cannot fix tthis. Since microsoft will be dropping support for old libraries.
