Broken images for skins in in-game inventory

Title

I saw another discussion on this, and the fix was to delete "csgo\resource\flash\econ\weapons\cached". Except for me, this only very temporarily fixes the issue; as soon as I go back to the inventory in-game screen all the weapon images start to become broken again. However, default weapons/items, my loyalty badge, graffiti and cases remain normal looking.

My video settings are on the lowest they can be, I have multicore rendering on and my res is 640 x 480. I would like to keep my video settings the same for the sake of frames.

Maybe it's due to a graphics issue? Have you tried update the display driver.

Also if the thumbnails look different, try change the shader graphic settings to high and restart. It should look better.

My display driver is up to date and I tried changing shader graphics, nothing is working.

Huh, interesting. And no in game problems?
Have you tried sorting items in inventory differently?

Sorting items does not fix the problem sadly.
The weirdest part is that all weapons look normal when I delete the cache folder, and they quickly becomes the broken image again. Very strange. Its almost as if the files are corrupting, maybe it has something to do with the fact that im running csgo on an external hard drive.

Well, instead of verifying files, move instalation to regular hdd, preferably ssd.

Change your res to see whether the problem still persists.

Yes it could be the resolution. I think 640 x 480 is too low and might cause the image to generate incorrectly.

Try :
- Change it to 1024 x 768.
- Run econ_clear_inventory_images command
- Go to inventory page to generate new and proper images
- After new images has been made, switch back to original resolution and restart.

This, 480p Is the problem. I don't know about that command Irene mentioned tho, but i do know a manual fix i found out recently.

You can set 1024x768, then list your skins on steam market, then remove the listings and it will be fixed, then you can set res back to 480p.
