How do hvh servers work because I joined one without realizing it is it like people bring there own hack's or does the server install hack's

I'm saying this because I don't want to know the hard way by playing on a VAC server and get banned.

So I don't have to worry about a server installing cheat's on PC's. Has that ever happened before?

server cant install cheats, but some had questionable plugins x)

You will never get in trouble for connecting to those servers. They do not flag your account or install any cheats or do anything. They are harmless.

The only way to get in trouble with VAC is to install and run cheats. Just joining a HvH server on accident or just to see what it's like will do nothing harmful.

HvH servers (and servers in general) cannot install cheats. The only thing community servers can download are sounds/maps/textures (for the maps)/etc. These items can never trigger VAC or any other cheat detection because they only pertain to custom maps and sound files for the server.

You are completely safe even if the server starts "downloading a bunch of stuff". Sometimes I've seen people make jokes about the servers downloading cheats/hacks/etc but they are just that: jokes. The files that get downloaded from community servers cannot ever be cheats and you're perfectly safe.

The software that runs dedicated/community servers cannot send you any files that could be a cheat, ever.

they are not scanned by valve but you could say that valve has made sure that you can never get a cheat just by connecting to a server, yes.

Dude the more you try to convince us that you dont have cheats the more it looks like you HAVE cheats so just chill i have yet to see someone accusing you of being a cheater...
