Can I buy Prime Status as a gift for someone?

My friend got hacked on his main account and he doesn't want to spend more money on Steam so I'm encourage him to create a new account and play CSGO with me, if he does that I want to give him Prime Status, can I do that?

you cant gift him the pass but you can gift him steam fund as a wallet card trough the steam forum

Sour Apple literally went the most in topic and told you that they can still play together even if one of them doesn’t have prime, and since the account is new, the trust factor would still be low even with prime.
