Cant launch cs unless terminating Nahimic service
Hello,
as the title says, when i press play on steam, nothing happens, even when i open up task manager i can't see the cs:go icon, so i terminate all the nahimic related services in TM, and try to launch cs again, and it works, does anyone know of a fix for this?
thanks.

So this may be a solution.

1. Go to your start bar and type msconfig.
2. Navigate to the services tab.
3. Scroll down to the "Nahimic service" and disable it via the checkbox.
4. Restart your computer.

Let me know if this causes the same audio distortion issues.

I have this problem as well while using an ASUS RoG Strix X470-F Motherboard with latest audio drivers.

As the OP said, ending background processes related to NahimicService.exe and MahiminSvc2/64.exe allow me to launch CSGO.

All I know is that these services are related the Realtek Audio Device integrated on my motherboard.

Here is a YouTube video that helped me narrow this down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOUgs31uoK4

thanks for your reply,
i also have watched that video, however terminating those processes will lead to distorted audio for me.
do you know of a way to disable them from a control panel or something similar?

I wonder if the mentioned programs are Enabled for Data Execution Prevention (DEP).

Add the DEP column in the Details tab of Task Manager and check to see if those programs are Enabled for DEP.
Hello and thanks for your reply.
i did as you said, added the DEP Column in the details tab of TM, and yes, all the Nahimic services are enabled for DEP, should they be like this?

They should be Enabled and that suggests that DEP is not the problem.
oh i see, thank you.

The only issue I have had with VAC errors recently was due to an update to a program I was using (MSI Afterburner). Maybe check to see if something you're running locally has been updated recently.
i did use MSI afterburner, but i completely uninstalled it recently along with riva statistics, but that didn't help with anything.

Try running Steam as Administrator to see if that helps. I don't run Steam as Administrator anymore but doing so in your case might help you understand if that is an issue.
i just tried running steam as admin like you said, but no solution, my last attempt would be to do a complete clean install of windows, followed by a clean install of all drivers.

Or don't use the service causing the problem?
yes that was my thinking initially, i tried to find any program that allows me to disable Nahimic service, sort of like a Nahimic service control panel, but i could not find anything, i downloaded msi dragon centre, but did not see the option, i uninstalled realtek audio console, still no solution, the only way is to terminate Nahimic services via TM, however that causes distorted audio in games.
