REDUCED XP WTF IS THIS???

I've only just noticed this happening, but when i play csgo (quite frequently) i get an xp reduction multiplier at the end of my games. To put this in perspective, I need 2000 xp to rank up to my next level and I get on average 84xp for a competitive win, that means i will need to win 24 games of competitive to rank up, these games take roughly 35 minutes, therefore I need to put in 14 hours of gameplay to rank up. Why is this even a thing? does valve really want to punish people for playing their game? Please discuss.

well - I'm not even sure what those levels are all about - guess it's just another pseudo-prediction and controll mecha to reduce high-valued item-drops to increase trade-/market-prices - so valve can make even more money from fees
short: a new way valve can make even more money out of an established game

As I know, those XP reductions are side effects of playing CS:GO too much. Valve wants you to play CS:GO in a responsible manner. I know it sucks, but this is Valve.

yeah same prob here but last night it said that a player out of a old comp match was caught cheating and vac banned and i have been getting that reduced xp ever since
PS: it said i have been readjusted by my rank and stuff

I haven't seen that banned message but I have played cs a lot, still you'd think a company would take the opposite approach when concerning players spending a significant amount of time playing their game.

You're playing too much each week that's why you get reduced xp :)

You're supposed to level up maybe 3 times / week before you get reduced exp
