Mouse moves slowly to the left on its own

My brother has CSGO since a month now. We don't play often because sometimes when he plays this game, his cursor moves slowly to the left without him even touching the mouse. He has to correct his mouse position all the time which annoys very much and even makes the game nearly unplayable for him. We switched mouses and this problem neither appears in other programs nor in other games (like COD etc.), so it is certain that this must be a problem with CounterStrike.
Do you guys know a solution for this problem? We are grateful for every hint because right now the game is no fun for him although he totally thinks he can like it.

Do you have a gamepad plugged in your computer perhaps? Cause I also get this issue in some games when my controller is plugged in.

When you have a controller/wheel/joystick plugged in, use these commands to increase the deadrange in csgo for these devices:

one line, console, once:

joy_yawthreshold "0.5"; joy_pitchthreshold "0.5"; joy_sidethreshold "0.5"; joy_forwardthreshold "0.5"; host_writeconfig
