So imagine that I just got a new Steam account, because it got hacked or what ever reason. Then I would be forced to have a low trust factor and playing against cheaters simply because I was better... doesn't seem very fair to treat better players as cheaters. Specially because some players report and hackusate everyone that plays better than them.
Any legit player with a lower Trust Factor should have a chance to make it normal once again without having to play months/years with cheaters (I have seen people who said it only got back to normal after years).
Read the room. You're either a bad troll or dumb yourself. It's obvious that most people have a similar opinion regardless of rank. I'm not silver and I think smurfing is utter B.S- to go and wreck people lower than yourself is kind of low IMO and are just as bad as said hackers due to the fact you're still cheating essentially because you're purposely going against people who you're obviously going to beat and trash their ranks. I remember my silver days of coming up against blatant smurfs and when I eventually got out of Silver Hell my ranks flew up because most the smurfs were gone, it's kind of low and pathetic and this is why the community isn't going to grow.
Trust factor working as intended :)
Trust Factor wasn't implemented to combat cheaters. It was implemented to provide a better and more enjoyable experience to those who not only play fair and avoid toxic behaviour, but those that continue to be an upstanding member of the Steam community.
Smurfing may not be seen as cheating, but it is behaviour that is deemed unfair. A smurf is generally someone who is far better than the rank they are now playing at, and because of this, they are essentially ruining the enjoyment of said lower ranks through an unfair skill advantage.
I would put far more stock into the fact that Trust was designed to combat smurfs, than it was to combat cheaters. Either way, both parties are quickly bundled into the same cesspool thereafter
