Using that gets me to 500-ish fps (sometimes it goes over, then goes back just under 500 again)
the Ryzen 7 3800x
edit: I should mention I'm using a set launch command called "-threads 8"
Ok then this means that your system cannot push more frames I guess...I have mine capped to 503 fps so I can avoid the microstaters and overall I rather have stable 440 to 500 fps than spikes up to 800 and above fps.
They say you should NOT use the -threads option...and btw I have disabled hyperthreading.
Shouldn't it be able to since only 25% of it is being used?
edit: nevermind, managed to reach 600+fps on T side, seems like it's an issue with my settings
Yes of course, but I think this number cannot be correct. Does your CPU support hyperthreading? disable and see if there is any difference...
What gfx card are you using?
Yes it does support hyperthreading, as for the gpu it's a gtx 1660 ti
These are good numbers coming from this card.
Have a look at this video about hyperthreading in CSGO:

And in my opinion you should cap the framerate to something sensible and avoid spikes. If the system can give you a stable range between 450 and 550 fps (for example), cap it to 500 instead of anything above that. You do not want big frame variations while you are playing or any microstaters.
Also for the people that say 500 fps is not useful I disagree. When you have a 240Hz monitor and 500fps the game feels and looks super smooth.
well, got some news, going from -threads 8 to -threads 16 (16 max cores, including HT) managed to get me lower FPS.
u will not see any difference between 100 fps and 500 fps, so it doesnt really matter
Now this is what I call absolutely worthless replies.
I made this thread not to keep on playing at 500+fps but to see what my pc can and can't do, and finding some settings which could help me use 100% of either my gpu or my cpu.
