Right click the CS:GO shortcut, and click “Run as administrator”.

This. Or run Steam as Administrator since the Steam Client bootstrapper running with elevated privileges is a parent admin privilege that filters down to any game launched from it. That includes non-Steam games you might run.

I would advise you not do this if you plan on using community servers because it leaves you open to slowhacking, but you can definitely do it while playing on one of Valve's servers.

Don't think that will work. It will start CS:GO as admin but not under Steam. So it's like running -insecure.

You can do that via the shortcut link. You don't need the -insecure launch option to do it.

You can do this with any software, app, or game bought on and run from Steam.

You can also set the compatibility settings for CSGO's executable files to run as administrator.

The -insecure launch option runs CSGO without VAC detection. People who use it will not be able to play on VAC protected servers.

Stop spreading "misinformation" xD

I didn't say -insecure is needed.

One can run csgo.exe by right clicking and selecting Run as Administrator or by marking the exe to Run as Administrator but in both cases CSGO warns that the game is running in -insecure mode.

If one uses the Steam-created shortcut to start CSGO, there is no option to run as administrator.

BTW, running Steam as Admin is something I used to recommend but don't anymore.

No, just you are. The only time I meme Mac users is 1. They think they are privileged just because they have Mac or 2. They actually think gaming on a Mac makes sense. Most of the time people just play on a Mac because they don’t have money to get a new PC and got a Mac for school.
