PSA: Vanguard (Valorant anti-cheat) lowers FPS in source games

I didn't realise what was making me get such low fps... now i found the culprit. I tried everything, then I realised vanguard was always open, then I exited it, my fps went from 40-60 to 300+.. oh my god riot games.

You didnt find the culprit. You just found the cause. What is the culprit is your installation failing to work for whatever reason because vanguard is suppose to shut down after you exit Valorant.

Vanguard staying on was fixed 6th of may.

I have never faced anything like that. Maybe throw a report at them?

No, vanguard is always on. If u exit it, it says u cant play valorant till u restart ur pc, its always there.

Yes, your other thread where you complained about low FPS and I said to close Valorant AC. And yes, it's known that you have to restart after close Valorant AC. That's how Valorant AC works.

Vanguard will run at Windows startup unless uninstalled.

If you don't like it uninstall it.

If you want to play Valorant you will have to put up with it .

They added a method to disable it but the PC needs to be restarted after disabling it if one wants to play Valorant.

If Vanguard is better at stopping hackers I am all for Valve using a intrusive anti cheat as well.
