Is this a scam

I recently got in contact with a guy who wants to trade one of his knives for mine. But he wants me to trade my knife to Rust items via tradeit.gg so there won’t be a 7 day trade hold. Just want to make sure there are no known scams for this.

That's definitely a scam. Never agree to trade outside the actual trade window unless there's actual proof that you can trust the person trading with you.

But we will trade in the trade window after I converted my knife to rust items. That’s what he says atleast.

idk I used tradeit.gg a lot never had any bag happen to me except for when the item is unavailable and they give u funds instead

Dota2 items are 7 day trade hold now, another We Dont Like Traders-Here Have a Hold change made last week by Valve. Rust items have no hold, yet.

Rust items dont have a trade hold and swap.gg is a legit site, but i wouldnt change the knife for rust skins since u lose a lot of value, plus u are not guaranteed he will trade with u after so u might be stuck with trash rust skins.

Actually only dota 2 arcanas have a trade hold now

Scammer wants you to send trade to a bot and then he will send another trade impersonating as the bot, making you give HIM the items instead of the bot. (RIP)
