Are they going to port CSGO to Source 2?
Or is it just going to stay hacker heaven forever because of the source code leaks?

Like don't tell me they can't pony up the money to do it.

Afaik they won't fully port CS:GO to Source 2.

Also Source 2 has nothing to do with cheaters.

And the leak happened 2-3 years back. It's not relevant.

The leak to hackers did not happen 2-3 years ago. The source code to TF2 and CSGO was leaked years ago to a Valve News Network associated modding group.

One of the members of the group was harassed by SJWs for wrong think so he got kicked out.

So he decided instead of the VNN modding group jerking off over having exclusive access to the source code, he released it onto ♥♥♥♥♥, where any users who a bit torrent client downloaded it.

---

The reason to port the game to Source 2 is because the hackers don't have the source code for Source 2, but they do for a version of CSGO as recent as only a few years ago.

Hacking a game without source code, is like trying to make your way through a maze without being able to see the maze from above. Hacking the game when you have the source code, is like being able to see the maze through a bird's eye view. Its massively easier.

As a result of the source code leak, cheat providers have gone from issuing new cheats from when old ones get detected, to just re-writting new cheats on a regular basis.

Porting CSGO to Source 2 would mean the hackers no longer have access to the source code of CSGO.

@mod

My question wasn't answered, the person in question either doesn't know what he is talking about or is minimizing the issue.

CSGO players deserve as much of a cheat free experience as possible. It's Valves responsibility to fix this and they DO HAVE THE MONEY to do so.

Why do you think a port would mean less cheaters?
A Global Moderator has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Probably for the same reason people see cheaters everywhere, when it's simply someone that is better than them (often anyway).

This is ignorance. There are way too many hackers to allow this kind of statement. If people are making a mistake its probably on the cautious side.

Every MP game has cheaters.

I think I figured out why.

They have all watched youtube. Someone looked into their face, their eyes, and tells them with moving lips that source 2 is coming with anti-cheat. It will be really convincing - hence more people will come to the forum to ask about source 2 again and again. Youtubers have next level reaction. Any fake news is their source of creativity and income.

The only way to convince everyone that source 2 isn't coming, is to have killa make a youtube wearing swimsuit, drinking pineapple juice, and say "hey bros chill"

My evidence is anecdotcal but I've only ever encountered a handful of cheaters in CSGO. Than again, I'm an extremely lucky person.

Someone else their truth might be indeed only encountering cheaters, probably made worse if they cheated in the past and are grouped with cheaters in the past. There's also a lot of regions, timezones and other factors to consider.

But considering I get -called- a cheater every other game, and even think sometimes other cheat when they're clearly not - it's simply easy to think someone that bested you was cheating, because the alternative means you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up - and that's a very human way of thinking.

Considering people don't even take Valve's word for it, I doubt they will take mine.

Heck, we already have Source 2 in parts of the game - but people are pretty ignorant and not-understanding when it comes to things like ticks, anti-cheats and engines.

Because obviously some random YouTuber is more trusthworthy.. the logic beats me.

All the amazing games I've had (everything clicked with the team and myself) I was called out as a cheater.

im playing in low trust factor cuz i get called cheater a lot and can't manage to get out of it for at least 2 months now. many people say it's very bad to play in low but there's not that many cheaters, it's just that people troll more, smurf, play on new accounts or sometimes cheat

this i fully agree.

it is easy to spread fake news on social media websites like

1) facebook

2) twitter

3) youtube videos

............etc.

people needs to learn to tell the difference between "fake news" and "true facts" from official game websites and social media.

Don't think we'll get source 2 for a year or two minimum, it's more likely that we'll even get 128 tick servers in MM before then.

there are plenty of factors on how people get "low trust factor".

1) getting plenty of Cooldown bans

2) abandoning matches (refer to the 1st point)

3) getting steam forum bans (this is 1000% true)

4) queuing up with people who got Low Trust Factor

..........etc.

getting "reported for being a cheater" doesn't reduce your Trust Factor at all.

no way will there be 128 ticks in CS:GO before Source 2 is fully integrated into CS:GO

by the time 128 ticks occurs in CS:GO, CS:GO will be fully upgraded to Source 2 first.

i highly assume it will take 5 years to 10 years before CS:GO get 128 ticks servers.
