How well does a Valorant map work in CSGO?
I just made the Valorant map "Bind" B bombsite in CS:GO. It's on the wingman gamemode. After a bit of playtesting, I think it plays very well. I'd love to hear your thoughts about this idea, and I am open to adding more to the map in order to make it play better. Thanks.

It doesn't work because Valorant has skills that characters can teleport, fly, throw smokes through wall and create ice pillars, all of that are mechanics that fits each map because the map is design based on that as well.

But CS:GO has smoke grenades, molotovs and flashbangs. I've added in some low walls so you can smoke the site from a distance. Also, from my experience with valorant, utility is not used very well, and yet the maps still play well. I think you might be surprised if you give the map a go; 2 good smokes and you can take the site, lots of places for after plant situations.

Before I made the map I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I think it plays well :steamhappy:

I didn't say that though. What i'm saying is that from my playtesting with friends, it plays well as a wingman map. At the end of the day, both are bomb defusal. Take a look at the overview of some of the maps, very similar. Heck, Valorant are releasing a map that looks extremely similar to cache. In Valorant, abilities come second to gunplay, and while abilities no doubt influenced map design to some extent, this doesn't mean it cant work in CS:GO.

I can't say for certain about it because I didn't play Valorant, but looking at twitch game play, I don't think a Valorant map would fit CS:GO because a map, in any game, is made by thinking what players can and can't do... Do you think CS:GO would be good if players were able to use utility through walls?

No I don't. But as I said before, abilities in Valorant do not have as much of an impact as you would think. Most of your kills come from good positioning and good shooting.

Really? Being able to create an ice wall in a corridor don't impact the game play?
Oh... Sorry, being able to use smokes through wall doesn't change how the game play works...
How about teleporting and shooting meteor shower around the map, makes no difference.

Dude, please, you are out of yourself. If you think those abilities makes no impact to the game Riot could remove them completely and the game would be the same, right? Just don't, dude. Those abilities makes all the differences, PLUS creating a "better character" system that CS:GO doesn't have.

Literally the skills makes the most difference because of character favoritism. We could have the exactly same skill level in CS:GO, all matches would tie... We could have the exactly same skill level in Valorant, our characters would define who would win, because "counter" exists when you create character favoritism.

Saying the skills makes minor impact is the same as saying choosing a character makes minor impact, thus making completely no sense to say that... It's like player exactly the same way you always play with all characters, ignoring all unique abilities that makes your character unique in something.

Don't be that guy, please, this isn't good, no one likes this kind of person.

Okay. You sure seem to know a lot about Valorant considering you haven't played it. Now, go and google Riot's design philosophy when making Valorant. Abilities second, gunplay first. It's literally in the design videos they've been making. Valorant is not like Overwatch where abilites define what your role is. Instead, it's 90% CS:GO and 10% Overwatch. Someone with good aim but doesn't use abilities will beat someone who uses abilities perfectly but cant aim. Now look at the abilities you say are so influential in the gameplay. Take the smoke you can throw through walls. I've said I added in low walls so now you can smoke anywhere you want (same effect)? The character who throws fire, molotovs. Flashbang through walls, pop a flash over a wall? This was just an experiment to see how well the maps work in CS:GO, and from what i've found they do.

dont take peoples opinions about Valorant to hard some people are just abit tierd of hearing about it in the cs go forum

its great that you can make your own map in cs go ! i tried to do it but hammer keept crashing for me so i kind of gave up on it haha =)

Yeah I understand that. Support for custom content is the reason I prefer CS:GO over Valorant. Does your hammer crash when you compile your map, or does it just crash randomly?

it kind of randomy crashed whenever i was editing stuff but i have 0 patience with that stuff so i guess i have to try later or get someone to help me make a map

Yeah, I mean if you can run CS:GO fine I don't see why the SDK would crash constantly. If you can figure it out though, mapping is a fun and very rewarding process. Wish you the best with it :steamhappy:
