Why do people knife the air whilst running?
I can't get my head around it, in ranked and non ranked games people just knifing the air over and over whilst running to a position.

1. Does it increase move speed?
2. Does it make me look cooler?
3. How many air knifes do I need per round?
4. Does knifing the air increase chance to win?
5. Am I playing the wrong game?

Thanks all for your help.

This, like most things in CS probably started when a pro player did it back in the day. I personally tend to knife the corners of walls/boxes as I go around corners, mainly because I like the Falchion Knife animation when you right click stab the wall. He stabs it then throws the knife and catches it. Looks cool.

You need at least 100 air knifes per round or people will usually kick you, you must have gotten lucky that noone was spectating you and noticed you werent air knifing

To give something to do while running is the correct answer.
