1024x768 stretched not smooth?
I have a potato laptop (I5 7200u, Geforce 940MX) but I can get about an average of 110-120 FPS pretty comfortably with all low settings except 4x MSAA with monitor overclocked to 83hz. For some reason, the game is very unsmooth on 4:3 stretch, 1024x768. The game just feels sluggish, some screen tearing, and overall very microstuttery and not smooth at ALL. Even native resolution feels WAY smoother with about 10-20 fps less on average. Lower res (800x600) is pretty smooth, so it seems like it is just this resolution that is causing problems. It feels quite smooth on black bars, but it kinda feels weird to play on BB after such a long time on stretch, even more so for native res.

I've tried many fixes over the past month but nothing seems to fully fix the issue. Disabling fullscreen optimizations, overriding high DPI scaling to Application, and deleting userdata has helped a bit but there is still quite a bit of microstutters and the game still feels unsmooth. Any help? :)

Yes, unfortunately there are optimization problems at 1024x768. In general, we get this problem because we play 4: 3. My suggestion to you is to stay away from Dust 2 and Cache if you are going to play 1024-768. Other than that, there is no problem optimizing most maps

Oh damn, really? Do you have source of that? I've heard some other people in other forums say their game feels unsmooth on 4:3 stretch but not to the extent of lack of optimization for a certain res in CS. Also it seems like, to me at least, the issue exists in pretty much every map no matter which one I play, from Dust 2 all the way to Vertigo and even Office (lol), so I'm not sure its optimization problems for individual maps. Thank you for the input though! :)
