What's the command for showing crosshairs of other players?
I want to find that command in the config file, but don't know what it is called. The option to see other people's crosshairs and letting them see my own.

It's in the game settings somewhere. Literally launch the game and you'll find something along the lines of "Show player crosshairs"
That option only saves when I remove "read only" from my config. And if I do that before starting the game, my whole config will be messed up.

Yes.
Then changing the read only setting shouldn't change the setting, they are totally separate.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

CS:GO will change some settings, like cmd rates and stuff to the default when starting the game and not having the config in read only.

That does not happen with me. Do you have the command "Host_writeconfig" at the bottom of your CFG and "exec [configfilename.cfg]" in the launch options?

What exactly do I have to put into my config? I did, as you said, put "Host_writeconfig" at the end of my config, removed read only, and put "-exec config.cfg" into my launch options and the game reset my config (removed stuff like fps_max etc.)
