Very strange problem, people see me before I see them even on same ping.
So I have this problem.

I dont know whats it called and whats cause of it I just know im right. I returned back to counter strike after 6 years, global offensive is awesome. In past weeks I had awesome run, was making 30 kills almost every map on faceit, everything runned so normal, after I reinstalled windows 15 days ago I started to struggle. I just knew somethign was wrong, and how to explain it I felt so ,,powerless,, when going in duel to people. I dropped from lvl 8 to lvl 5 in faceit, and my KD dropped from 1.5 to 1.2 cause of this problem. I felt like people see me earlier than I see them, and yet I have 144hz BenQ monitor with 220 fps~ on average. I was searching and a guy gave me idea to V-sync ON and double buffer. I tried it and OMG it worked, I dont feel powerless in duels anymore and i started to making 30 kills again on each map, but now my fps is capped to 141-142-143, but atleast I dont have a feel like people see me before I see them. Does anyone know what problem is this? I know im 100% right.

Thank you for your time

Greetings ~

It's called placebo effect... with Vsync off and more fps you are better actuallly :P

It means you need to prac some more to be consistent and it seems some days you're game is just not as on as in other days. Placebo all the way.

Dude its not placebo effect, I know because of my stats. Im having easier time, im reacting faster than most people now and having more kills, theres no way im going back to Vsync off with this, because it wouldnt make any sense. Is it cause of input lag or something?

You guys got it all wrong listen to this:

When I put aim to the guy head and if my VsyncON im 100% going to shoot him in head. While with VsyncOFF im going to miss him. For example when I die with VsyncON im going give 2-3 hits to other guy. When I die with VSyncOFF im gona give 1 or no hits to other guy. When I had VSyncOFF and I aimed a guy to the head from close distance and shoot him off and missed and I raged on Teamspeak, my friend said me that my crosshair was not on the head, while on my monitor it was.

It's placebo. I'm above your rank on faceit with an old 60 hz LG monitor.

One thing common about cs players is how emotional most are and how much changes put most people off. Makes sense I guess, otherwise half of you wouldn't waste time and money replicating pro players configs, crosshairs and equipment.

No need to argue personal preferences just be happy it works for you.

"my friend said me that my crosshair was not on the head"
cuz it wasn't... placebo effect.. I know you suspect answer like:
" It's because of goomba waves in monitor... Vsync makes it 101 times better" or smth like that but in reality Vsync on = worse play :P

I tested it with day of defeat 1.3 I play a month with vsync on and a month with vsync off.
my stats were better with vsync on.

Lmao it's placebo 100%. It seems like you have some better days than others and you seem to be in a good mood so you play better. The V-Sync made you think that since you turned on something that pros probably have on as well, you play like one.
f4nt0mchkhje Nov 15, 2016 @ 12:04am
Yes it was, even when I play pistol DM and I shoot people from long distance I give headshots much better now than before. Before I would put crosshair on head and shoot 10 bullets form USP and would never hit a guy. With Vsync ON I give him headshot in 1 or 2 bullets. Is there anyone else who can give its opinion and its not about placebo effect? Cause I know its not placebo effect. I did everything to fix this, I thought it was interp but not, I also deletes pro configs didnt helped. With VsyncON people on my monitor are actually where they really are.

Placebo can affect you physically.

bump, it not placebo its lag input

Where do you apply vsync? Nvidia settings or in game options? And how are you running launch options?

VSync I do apply in CS:GO, and I use AMD Radeon 7700 HD series graphic, so I dont have Nvidia settings. My launch options are I Think -novid -high -refresh 144 -nojoy -nod3d9ex -tickrate 128

Im pretty damn sure I experience higher lag input or low response time when my VSync is off. I swear its not placebo effect. Im facerolling people on faceit since I put VSync and I will tell once again

Where I do low dmg when Vsync is off, in same case I would do high dmg with Vsync ON.

This is not placebo effect I just know, because i felt so powerless with Vsyncoff

I deal in statistics and facts, not feelings. I'm glad it works for you.

Does anyone there has enough knowledge, what exactly VsyncON did to my monitor response time and input lag?
