Quitting because of smurfs
I've been playing this game for a long time, but I think I'm done. Smurfing breaks this game. I hate spending lots of time trying to get my rank up just to lose a bunch straight because of accounts with less than 500 hours steam rolling me. Valve acts like it cares but the reality is, they LOVE smurfs! To all of you who read this and have smurf accounts, thank you for nothing. I'm sorry that you are so salty losing in your own rank that you have to go ruin lesser ranks. Well played...

Obviously I'm salty...anyone is when they have to deal with playing vs smurfs... I'm not asking for your kleenex, more of just trying to tell CS:GO that they are losing another customer because of their lack of rank management

Smurfs are part of game, and it's perfectly legal, whether we like it or not. Cheaters are also there and we can't do anything about it. It's harsh and cold, but it's the truth.
You can always try some alternative matchmaking services, like Faceit, Cevo, Gameface or ESEA (paid alternative). There are also cheaters and smurfs there, but you might have more luck than on official MM. Official MM is far too much inferior to the ones I mentioned here and it's beyond me that Valve doesn't make bots more useful in a situation where someone leaves, or why there are no knife rounds or overtimes.
Still, it's a great game and there is really no better alternative to CS:GO at the moment.
You can either live with the smurfs or quit playing it, but if you're a true CS:GO fan you'll come back sooner or later, no matter how much you got pushed off because of smurfs.
I quit and delete this game almost every week, always because of smurfs or people I consider cheaters (I always watch the demos to be sure). The rage gets the better of me and I say I'll quit (which is probably the case with you), but later I come back because I'm a bloody addict.
But I feel your pain, I have 2.4k+ hours in this game and still get rekt by some Turks or ♥♥♥♥♥ who have 50h ingame. But at the end of the day you just shut up and play and try to have some fun, or you quit the game (and we both know that you will not do that).
Welcome to the society of addicts.

Cheers mate ;)

They are still getting more new players than those leaving

Learn to cope with the fact that some ppl are better than you, and thats okay

Yea, I've been playing this game since I was 15, and I'm 31 now. I'll probably be back, but this community is as toxic as they come and CS:GO needs to drastically improve their ranking systems. There are ways to get smurf accounts up to their proper rank easily if CS cared to do it..they just don't. It's all good, Planet Coaster looks pretty fun...

Sheezy, do you play prime or non-prime matchmaking?

Prime...that's the worst part. Prime was their terrible attempt to get rid of smurfs, but it doesn't work. My last game there were 3 players with under 500 hours on the other team. I'm MG1 and the majority of MG's have 1k+ hours

If you played this game for 15 years surely you've played CS 1.6 where there was no ranking system. It was either get good or leave.
