4k Resolution won't work...
So for the longest time I was able to play the game no problem in 4k. Originally I was running a GTX 970, and I recently upgraded to a 1080.

A couple months ago i started up the game and the resolution was screwed up. Everything is stretched way to the right and the colours are all green and purple. Completely unplayable like this, can't even see half of the main menu. I've tried running the game in 3840x2160 and 4096x2160 and neither works, the only way I can launch the game somewhat successfully is in 1920x1080, but it looks like absolute crap.

I just tried print screening it and pasting it into paint but it looks normal, the way it should. So I'll take a picture of it on my phone so you guys can see what's going on and possibly help me out with a fix.

This is what it looks like: http://imgur.com/a/bxiu7

Any help would be awesome. I essentially can't play the game right now. I've tried reinstalling it a bunch of times and a couple other things but nothing seems to work.

Did you try using the 970 again or changing the display cables?

Just found out, if i hit the the tilt button to bring up the console the resolution goes back to normal, but if I leave console again it goes back to being screwed up like that.

It was screwed up like that on the 970 also. It worked fine for like 2 years in 4k then all of a sudden it went like that and I just can't get it to run normally. This is the only game I have that does this so it shouldn't be an issue with either cards or display cables.

Do you have this same problem?

For me seams a Graphic card problem. The colour change is for me a Graphic card problem. That all is to much right you can Change with your Graphic card Software by descaling all and some extra option that fix the Place off all things Google for it if you don't know how to do it.

Definitely not a graphics card problem. 2 seperate cards and this is also the only game I have that does this. I think it's potentially a Nvidia driver issue, DirectX issue or something that Valve changed in an update. This issue started several months ago right after a gam update.

A bit late but better than never...

You are using Windows 10 most likely and they have a feature called Game Mode. Go to the settings in "Start" menu and there to "Gaming" part where you need to disable Game Mode and anything else that you dont like. :)
