How do I deal with ladder anxiety?
Everytime I want to play a comp game or even think that I want to, my whole body starts to seize up and my nerves keep getting to me.
I tried allowing myself to fail, not caring about my elo, becoming more confident in my aim, but I keep having these reactions everytime I try to play comp.
Am I missing something? I really need help, I have had nothing but positive experiences in comp in MG1 and I really want to play more without this happening

not meant to sound harsh, but shouldnt you contact some kind of doctor for such things, instead of posting here

I talked about this with my sports psychologist I have for tennis, and we even did stress tests but she said it was normal. Perhaps I'm making it sound harsher than it actually is

it is not a ladder it is a ranking system.
that means you just play on your skill level.

I know, but I use the term "ladder anxiety" as I feel that more people understand what that is

and also, i wouldnt care that much about some picture in a videogame, start enjoying playing with friends, and the stress will be less over the time

Back in 1.6 I used to get massive adrenaline dumps for league and tournament matches, but never for practice matches(unless against a rival). For some reason it just stopped happening when I moved to CSS, and then I quite league/tourny/lan events xD

Sounds like you have an anxiety about a part of the competetiv csgo. Is it the 'talking' part or the pressure? I mean in tennis, when you lose than only for youself. Thats different to a team game

I'm not exactly sure about which part it is, just even thinking about playing competitive gets me nervous

if everything fails you should play drunk a few times.

Try really hard to keep calm, maybe even play with bots and try to keep being really calm.
Keep a good balanced breathing rythm too.
