you have a higher chance that you'll get 40-45 3 cent blue ones

Edit: maybe just buy a knife instead of 40-45 keys

Uh.. No one can tell you that. Friend opended 250 cases on his bday and didn't even get a rare skin.. And didnt even see a knife at all. So better buy it off marketplace.

This. That chance of getting a knife is like 1 in 500 or so... It's never worth opening cases, rather just buy an item you fancy. Even if you'd get a knife. You'd proably get a forest dd pad gut knife battle-scarred. Not a good one anyway.

Chance to get a knife is 0.2%, so opening 40 cases you get about 8% chance of getting a knife.

Don’t open cases just buy your skins from the steam market.

Not true. The more cases you open =/= better chances at getting a knife. You will have 0.2% chance of opening a knife with each case.

40 cases isnt event a serious knife "attempt"

Where is the evidence in this because this does not seem very true.

If it's about a knife, you should use a cheaper case.
However, the rates are low.

Case Opening Rate

Purple    84.02%   chance of :alertalert: Losing
Pink      96.80%   chance of :alertalert: Losing
Red      99.36%   chance of :alertalert: Losing
Yellow    99.74%   chance of :alertalert: Losing   (Knife / gloves)

When you lose, you get a cheap Blue item.

Conclusion : Do not open a case!

Odds don't change with quantity, is basic maths

Yes, because on the next case, you can get the same blue item. The items were not "removed" from the case. As the % of getting a blue is high, the % of you getting a repeated blue is high. Hence the % of getting a knife remained low.

Are you retarded? Odds do NOT change based on quantity. Did you fail math in school or something? If you happen to be talking about the chance for getting a knife, that could be wrong, i was simply referring to the person who said it was 0.2%.
