Does TimerTool get you a VAC ban?
There are a lot of people around declaring that TimerTool will get you VAC banned.

Is it true or is it just a myth?

it is safe to use now but useless if you run win7 or newer as your system will automatically do that stuff for you

TimerTool basically allows you to set the system timer resolution to any value you want. I've found a reddit post where every single person using it has been VAC Banned and then subsequently unbanned:

I, personally, would not risk it.

You're right, I tried opening Open Arena and the timer sets to 0.5 ms automatically. You can check the system timer with:
powercfg -energy -duration 5
Then open the energy-report.html file and you'll see that the system timer automatically adapts. So I guess this tool is useless as of today.
sdfsdf

It's a tool that adjusts cpu cycle times. It can cause a lot of unexpected issues.

No, it changes system timer's resolution.
