I was watching Fl0m and he is watching pro teams play, and they had a good mix between rifles.
I've been without internet for almost 2 months and just recently got back. When I left they really weren't using them much. Now I'm seeing it used MUCH more.
The AUG also has no real catch, you dont have to learn a spray pattern that is alien to you, its the same shape with a few variations but its very easy to learn.
I've been using both to be honest, but I miss old M4A1-S.
The main reason why people don't play with the SG is the horrible different spray pattern. It feels completely wrong bursting and spraying with the SG since it's completely different than all other rifles.
I would be worse at close range better at long range and similar at medium range.
Other people prefer an mp9 or ump than a famas on CT side. Of course depending on the money- and round situation. But a mac-10 or mp9 on forced close range is stronger than famas or galil on more ranges.
