Counter-Strike 2

csgo low ish fps gtx 1060 3gb
So my pc set up is almost brand new and i'm switched over from a 6 year old AlienWare with outdated parts. My new pc however cant reach over 250 fps in game.

my new specs are i7-700, invideagtx 1060 3gb, 16gb ram

would my issue be because my graphics card is only 3gb?

all my csgo setting are always maxed out on low(as usual) and launch setting and console settings plugged and i only get about 600fps in the loading screen, 400fps in the game que screen and 250 avg in game on most maps. my old pc would get 400fps avg in most maps

anyone have an idea why?

framerate in ms
but the hz remains no matter the frames.
The amount of time required to render a single frame decreases, and with modern mice having polling rate up to 1000 Hz - u benefit from as much as 1000 fps no matter the refresh rate.

I can't appreciate people enough who say sane things like you. :)

Well, it might require a high-speed camera recording inputs and responses to see a visual difference between let's say 250 fps and 500 fps on 60Hz screen, but difference between 60 and 120 is pretty noticeable for FPS players indeed. Considering the diminishing returns I'd say 240 FPS is pretty enough to make rendering input lag not noticeable for most people, tho CS:GO is a big pile of old crap with frametimes all over the place, so it might actually require way more fps to feel right. Or just a proper CPU-level framelimiting like the one RTSS provides, but who wants the easy way these days, they'd rather push hardware to its limits for no reason.

ok but my computer still drops to around 100... 250 is just the avg of the middle of the maps.
i know i have a strong cpu. but my grapchics cardhas only upgraded but has the same 3gb. would getting a 1060 6gb improve my cpu a lot or not?
250 are more than normal on a gtx 1060, with my 1080 I get only 300

No, you GPU can't improve your CPU in any way.
And it would be really helpful if u post your actual CPU model, because technically i7-700 is a laptop CPU from 2009.

Here's a test showing your CPU sits in 200-300 FPS range, 200-250 half of the time, so nothing wrong there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFjYSTCAoaQ
The game also doesn't require much of VRAM anyway, can be seen here at 1:36 and after - so u won't benefit from more VRAM.

Now, framedrops to 100 fps are definitely not okay. Are you sure your CPU/GPU temps are low? Are you by any chance using USB sound card or USB wi-fi adapter? Is your RAM running dual channel?

Actually, GTX 1060 3GB can go up to around 500 FPS in CS:GO 1080p low settings.

So, a topic from helping someone out with fixing performance, to an argument on pretty much "how many frames can the human eye see?!?!?!" type-style.

This is so sad...

yea the setup at the top has the 1060 6gb as apposed to mine being a 3gb..... im almost sure thats the reason now.

I did specifically show u the VRAM usage with the second video, and it's way below 3GB even on ultra. English, do you speak it?

There were no arguments, we shared the info on why would anyone want lots of FPS with 60Hz screen.

That is the exact definition of an argument that has been going on for three pages. Thank you.
