I have disabled it but do your own re-search. People in this forum aren't IT pros.

It is safe to disable superfetch. Or the better option is simply upgrade to SSD. The loading will be really fast.

Superfetch a Windows 10 service which can potentially slow down your computer by loading programs into memory without you asking for it. It's probably designed by someone with a high-end PC where the pre-load feels like nothing and the end result improves the system.

If your machine has lower than 4GB of ram, games and other memory demanding programs might crash. Your HDD might be busy and slowed.

Steps to disable it
  • Hold the Windows Key, while pressing “R” to bring up the Run dialog box.
  • Type “services.msc“, then press “Enter“.
  • The Services window displays. Find “Superfetch” in the list.
  • Right-click “Superfetch“, then select “Properties“.
  • Select the “Stop” button if you wish to stop the service. In the “Startup type” dropdown menu, choose “Disabled“.
