The ranking system in faceit is way easier:
-> The Basic elo you earn or lose for a win/lose is 25.
-> The basic elo you earn or lose will increase or decrease depending on how many elo points your - and the enemy team has - each combined(so individual elo isn't important).
So when you play with 5 people each 1000 points, you've 5k points. When the enemy team has 4 with 1000 and 1 with 1.5k points, they've 5,5k points.
That means when you win you'll get 25+bonus points and when you lose you'll lose 25+bonuspoints. In that case you'll probably win 25+2 points, and when you lose you'd lose 23 points (25-2).
Individual statistics, round wins, mvps, .... - everything doesn't matter. All what matters is that you win or lose (draws don't exist, there is overtime).
So. When you wanna derank the ONLY way to do so is losing more than winning. You can increase the speed of losing elo when your team loses against lower ranked teams because you'll then lose 25 points + bonus points. It's possible to lose 40 points at max each game - but keep in mind that your and the enemies team is most likely equal in terms of team-elo and when you for example queue as a level 10 player with a level 1 player, your teammates and enemies will most likely be in the middle, which means: Level 5. So even then you most likely only lose 25~ points.
Edit:
True. And you'll get banned for griefing in Faceit way faster. One single report with timetable and demo is enough in order to get you banned for bad language or bad playing. Toxicity and throwing will get you banned very fast. So - yes. Don't lose elo on purpose.
And another thing for OP:
No, people on level 4 aren't more experienced. The ranking system in faceit is even worse than the matchmaking ranking system is since it's based on farming. You can farm to level 10. So ignore the ranks, as you should do in matchmaking.
(BTH: Faceit ranking doesn´t sound so much better than normal MM anymore)
But to be fair: Every pugging ranking system has flaws and even the teamrankings in many leagues aren't good. For example I had games in the electronic sports league where my team would gain 0 (!) points for winning 16:0 and when we only lost one round we'd even get minus-points. That happens when you've many points and your enemy team has way less points.
So it's hard to find a good system to be honest.
