Even with intrusive anti cheat, the problem will maybe even get worse. Because cheat developers who are now selling for $500-1000 their ESEA/FACEIT Cheats will have a bigger market and therefore they will lower the price and make their cheat available more widely to the public.

So even with Strong anti cheat, the problem will persist. Let me explain further (and by no means am I promoting cheating, but giving a critical discussion on its misuse)

Cheating is a problem of Society / Culture and has to be handled with early childhood education. Cheating is an art form and a discipline. Knowing how and when is the key. We cannot eradicated cheating because it is part of human nature. You can see this in modern day politics and societies all over the world. This is a part of us. Even the most honest man can and will cheat given the circumstances and that he has discipline.

You can see how far the Drug war went, and it did not succeed. Alcohol prohibition same thing and you see more alcohol related deaths than any other in modern society right along with heart failure.

Humanity is looking for a short cut to travel the Universe, can that be considered cheating?

Cheating is a necessary evil for human progress because we are literally cheating nature to survive, the problem is not really cheating itself, its the misuse of it. A cheater does not discriminate who he is cheating against. Everyone is his victim and that is where the problem is.

If this makes any sense...

Fix society and we fix our world.

Even if they add an intrusive anticheat custom clients are a thing. Blocking them does not work. You can, but cheaters can run the real client and proxy their input from the cheat client to it from another computer or VM.
