There’s never a reason to overpay if the item has nothing special about it (such as super high/low float, stickers, etc)

In all honesty most of the trade encounters I've had, the people simply don't know how to negotiate. Here is an example.
My initial offer: £100 worth of items offered in a trade for £105 worth of items.
Their counter offer: £105 worth of items offered in a trade for £350 worth of items(message: don't low ball noob)
My counter-counter offer: £105 worth of items offered in a trade for £105 worth of items.
Rejected. Profile comment: -rep low ball trader.

I'm exaggerating the extent of the counter offer, but it's to make a point. There seems to be a lot of self entitled little brats, who just want high-tier profits off of low and mid-tier trading.

True. The people on the trade forums are TERRIBLE with this.

I just had a guy who wanted overpay for a 6 cent skin. he insisted, gave me offer twice. removed him and blocked him. its just the idea of people who insist overpay on anything. super annoying.

Yeah there's definitely better ways of receiving overpay, outright asking for it doesn't work ever and I don't know why people do it. Gets really annoying fast when they want you to overpay for no reason whatsoever.

Try to trade with people with similar value inventory. They are usually not looking for overpay, but just for new looking skins for a change. You'll never get good offer from big trader.
Natrix Feb 26, 2020 @ 8:04pm
5-10% overpay is needed by big traders.
Websites may take slightly more.

Thats why I could never get a trade on trading forums. I feel you dude. The only profit i made from trading was from someone who has a 15 day trade ban and has to overpay to trade

All smart people know overpay is stupid, exclude fade skins (and skins like it) when knife can be full blue or green or red. For this full colour skins sometimes overpaied. (Main word SOMETIMES).

Every trader/website demans some overpay. How do you think they make money.
Commercial Trading isn't a free service.
