When a new operation comes out, will the prices in the market go down until the operation is over?

I saw in a video that the logic behind it is whenever theres a new operation a lot of people will start selling their skins flooding the market to buy battlepasses, basically a steam sale for skins, idk. If this is true cus ive only staryed a few months after operation hydra, welp

It's a yes and a no, obviously there is people that sell their skins to get an operation pass, as well as there's another portion of people (probably the majority) that will buy it straight from their pocket without selling anything. However, skin prices are always dropping since there is more and more people willing to sell them with or without an operation, so I would say that some skin prices could drop faster when an operation is opened, but it wouldn't really mean a significant change to the market behavior. As for the prices rising after the operation is over, it's more of a no, the prices would keep on dropping instead.

If the price of your skin is rising you could either sell it right now or wait for the price to be even higher. Since the price will eventually drop you could earn some profit from selling it now and rebuying it a good while later. It's up to you, little Wolf of Steam Wall Street!
