Why can't i play ranked with my friend

I have been looking through the forums for csgo ranked with a friend. Do you need to be level 21 to play with a non prime member. I myself am Prime and my friend is not. He has not played one ranked game yet but he is level 2 he can play by himself but he can't play with me. I am silver 2 and it says that the skill gap difference is to big.

If it says skill gap difference is too big, then you cannot play together period.

Unless you find 3 other friends/people to play with you, then you can.

I bought the game after the battle royale but i dont want to lose prime status so how do i deactivate prime when palying with a friend

As said before you will play a non prime matchmaking. Since he has nor rank in order for you guys to playe together you need to assemble full 5 man queue. A person without a rank cannot play with ranked player if they are not in 5 man queue. So you need to invite 3 more people. :)

You cannot queue with your friends if there is a substantial ranking difference between you. Otherwise you would end up playing against players well above/below your skill level.

You will not loose prime status , but you wont be able to play prime with your firend that did not pay for prime. The prime and non prime thing here is not an issue. The fact that you starting the game as 2 people without 5 man queue is what restricts you from plaing competetive. (As said above unranked players can only play with ranked players in 5 man queue).

What you need to do go to lobby with your firend and invite 3 additional players.

that means your friend has a higher rank than you.
seems like he won 1-2 games alrdy.

unranked doesnt mean unranked, you have hidden rank groups.

unranked doesnt mean unranked, you have hidden rank groups.

You need to finish all 10 games to play with a ranked person. MMR just determines who you play against. Doesn't define a rank
