Mouse sensitivity/dpi ever since new MONITOR
Hey,

Ever since I got my new monitor I have been feeling the my mouse sensitivity has been feeling quite odd. I am running dual monitor setup now (being that the new 25" monitor is my main one).

This is in general by the way, in games it is more recognisable though. I feel that I am just trash at cs now.

I've been trying to search for solution but I cant find one that may explain effectively.

- Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma
- (I do have razer synapse but still unsure if thats an issue)
- Mousepad: Razer Goliatch (SPEED)

Resolution of new monitor is : 1920 x 1080 - 75hz
Resolution of old monitor is: 1440 x 900 - 60hz

Other stuff:

My main monitor is connected by a hdmi cable in graphic card hdmi slots (obviously)
Second monitor uses a DVI Cable

If you could help that would be epic 👌

It didnt effect me moving from 1440x900 to 1920x1080 but any difference would likely be because of the aspect ratio change
I'd say this is it.

@OP
Just change your sensitivity til you feel it's like the old one.

ive tried but at the same time there feels as if there is an ice kinda feeling. I have turned off game dvr which was an issue with my old laptop few years back.

If I raise my sens you can really see the difference and see that there is an 'icey' feeling...:steamsad:

dunno about any ice but you should just use same sensitivy and use same game resolution, itll take a while to get used to the new monitor :P

its idk how to explain it except ice-y ish but its not that bad of an issue, its only minor. ill mess around with game resolution for a bit see if helps

Ok so was practising against bots and I feel like I can aim again all of a sudden....
the only this I did was change me main(new) monitor to 60hz... to match second one but that should not have an impact. I then also changed to 16:10 instead of 16:9 that the 1920x1080 is. It feels kind of normal again

Maybe my arm is in an uncomfortable position which I have been kinda realising. Maybe im growing? idek lol

Overthinking. Use the same sens & dpi. Do whatever you want with the res, but do not change the sens/dpi/windows sens etc

^ that

also maybe you just noticed the 60 > 75hz difference and it felt weird :D

With m_rawinput 1 windows sens doesn't matter.

And when you change the res - the sensitivity will get different too.

Btw @ Op you should play on lower sens IF you are a competitiv player. You need as much fps as possible. Visual aspect isn't important. And I doubt that you get 300+ fps always on your laptop, right?

The higher resolution you have, slower ingame sensitivity becomes (relatively).

Just putting it out there, did you change the monitors refresh rate considering that yours can be 75 hz, only saying this as some people buy a new monitor that is capable of anything higher than the default 60 hz they do not know they have to change it.

Exactly.

Yes and at some point hdmi cable are not able to support higher hz. So at some point a display port is better. You can actually see if your hdmi cable fully supports 75 hz when you're ingane and type mat_info in the console. Read the text. Somewhere in the upper part you'll find tis information.

did u fix that
T_Eighteen Jan 9, 2019 @ 12:07am
I had similar issues with sensitivity being an issue. it is a Razer Synapse issue that Razer cant be bothered fixing.

Before booting up CSGO force close Razer Synapse and any corresponding applications along with it.

To do this you will need to go into Task Manager and scroll through the running applications, even background applications.

I moved away from any razer peripheral for this very reason.

When in CSGO, do NOT change the DPI setting as it will reset it to the default settings. Dont reopen Synapse as it could mess with your DPI and game sensitivity

All I did was change the hz of my new monitor to match the hz of my old monitor.
(60hz)

I degraded from 75hz to 60 on new
