Is selling skins for real money illegal?
In sites like Amazon.

What about CS.money? It have many users and some of them are buying skins for real money. Why this site is not being shutdown by Valve?

On what grounds do you suggest should valve shut down cs.money ?

Oh, they do not OWN cs.money, hence they need a lawsuit and cs.money needs to be in violation of a law , which they are not.

Damn , this free 2 play made the already dumb forums even dumber

Valve have reserved all rights and we are only using a steam account to have access. We are not really allowed to sell their things and profit. opskin have once done so and a lawyer have told them to remove everything before they take legal action. Valve have since shut down all opskin trade bots.

On paper, it is illegal to sell skins outside csgo. Valve has the right to shut down your account or sue for legal damages if you do so.

:erune: Seeing the many trading websites around (bitskins, DPmarket, etc) I believe valve is not taking action since they have all profit together. First, someone spent on valve keys to unbox, next a collector bought it with real cash. Hence the money goes from (collector * unboxer) -> valve. If someone were to setup a trading hub (a giant collection and no more unbox) and everyone pays to that trading hub, Valve will take legal action.

AFAIK it is legal in theory, but there are a couple of things that make it illegal:
-using trading bots
-betting
-scamming

basically anything that is against the ToS. you need to watch out, because valve has taken it's hands off all trading and deals that happen outside of official valve marketplaces, and you might be scammed. valve might ban the account used by the scammer, but you will never get your skins back.

they don't need to be in violation of the law, just in violation of Steam's ToS. Valve can make any rules they want for steam accounts.
