It also helps in making the enemy team think you're cheating (and therefore they will be more focused on blaming your cheats rather than play the game) because some cheaters usually have anime profile pictures.
It acts like a sort of distraction, or a way to make your enemy either underestimate you or overestimate you.
All in all, there are some people who use anime profile pics for the reason above, and it's hilarious how seriously offended some people can get over anime profile pics.
However, towards the end, the one who works harder and continue to push it's limits deserves to be a winner.
