Should the AWP have a slower fire rate?
IDK to me for a weapon that one shots easily its so easy to just hide behind cover camber another round before the other player can even get in a position to take them out.
Lets say you jiggle peak and make them miss he can still chamber a round by the time you re peak.

If they can chamber a second round by the time you repeat, you got to peek a lot faster than that.

Or throw a flash or smoke to cut off their vision.

I don't want to say that the game can't be changed after so many years but it's been kind of close to this for 20 years AND It received a pretty substantial movement speed nerf during CSGOs era.

i guess, but it would probably be more balanced with a slower fire rate

You need to learn the art of insta-headshotting if you have problems with the Awp.

how would this make it more balanced? This gun already cost a ridiculous amount of money and the entire economy revolves around affording an AWP for your team.

If you believe there's a sniper then you should peek with a friend, flash or smoke, or just don't take that sight line.

It's been shooting this fast for 20 years :conwayshrug:

the reason why you feel they fire awp so fast is because of this

1) the hot key to switch weapon back and forth

2) then right click on the mouse to zoom in

even if you asks for awp fire rate to be lowered, it won't solve the problem you having at all OP.

since majority of the CS:GO players who uses awp been using the "technique" i mention above for years since CS comes out up till now.

Swapping from your rifle back to your rifle reloads literally no faster?

They do this so they can get a better visual of their surroundings and move unencumbered for the half second while reloading.

it is faster by a lot.

i have done it before when playing in other CS games like CS:CZ.

just tap the "hotkey" you bind to swap weapons twice, then right click on mouse to zoom in.

i also have seen people doing it in CS:CZ too even until now.

p.s if you reload your awp by normal means, it takes around 5 secs to 10 secs for the reload to be done. but if you do it by what i mention above, it takes 0.5 sec to 1 sec to reload.

Do you play this game?

Because quickscoping is not faster in CS:GO. It has never been (??)

5 to 10 seconds to reload??? Now I know you're just a weird troll.

Most optimal way to deal with an awp:

Just ignore him. You dont need to take him out, just render him useless.

Not in csgo.

here is a thread where someone asks about quick reload for awp.

https://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/666826703837407043/

go and look into it "doc" because someone already mention the same thing as what i did above.

and no, it is not called "quick draw" nor "quick scoping" at all.

although it is reduced in CS:GO.

Fastswitch with awp is faster than manual shooting in old cs series only.
In CSGO if you don't switch awp, it will shoot faster then.
Faster run speed between shots or faster firerate.

This has nothing to do with what we were talking about. Post #5 even states that it's SLOWER, what evidence is this??? Do you play this game? You can go test this out right now.

Actually: given the way you post and just seem to copy and paste from support articles without any personal anecdotes, (completely unrelated to anything), I just believe you don't own CS:GO.

5 to 10 seconds of reload? The machine guns don't take that long to reload.

edit: https://i.imgur.com/VwIa6Bm.png

you really DID just take the first result from this basic Google search and paste it along as fact without reading it, like you do with every single thing you copy and paste here.

Stop spreading misinformation man :(

i think a longer set up time on scope for awp would be the best, not rate of fire, but rate at which player can accuratly aim with awp, see lots of tigger botters who use awp, most of the time they are just setting up in sweet spots when awp autofires and kills non hacking player.. there should be a 1 or 2 second delay on the scope of awp so that players can not expolit already fragile envionment like they have been.
