Csgo skin changer hacks

Can csgo skins be hacked to look like someone is using a skin he doesn't own?
If yes,how can I differentiate a legit skin and a hacked skin?

Skin changers are client-sided, so if someone is using it you wouldn’t see the fake skins

But I've heard that some skin changers can be external and can work on the server side too.

No skin changers of any kind are only client side even on servers that offer !skin

Let me clarify:

There's client-sided Skins
Client-sided skins can only be seen by yourself, and nobody else. There's not really any way to tell if a user is using skin changers if you're looking at a replay of a user having them. CAN GET YOU VACC'D

and there's server-sided Skins
Server-sided Skins can be seen by every user on the same server, like a Virtual Inventory, but not actually owning that Item. This is possible with plugins on servers through sourcemod/metamod. So, this can be checked by typing "sm plugins" into your User Console on Community Servers and checking if any plugin mentions any skin changers such as popular ones like franug and others (I'm not encouraging someone to actually go and use something like that, since there's some malicious ones that can harm your server, and..).
This Method is not allowed according to Valve and can get the Server owner GSLT-banned.

Just a few day´s ago i played with a guy that had an amazing karambit and other nice skins, but he had not a single one in his inv.
You can see even in OW skins/cheated skins.

Cheated skins are technically not possible. You had to be on a community server with sourcemod/metamod to be able to see them.

Cheated skins are technically not possible. You had to be on a community server with sourcemod/metamod to be able to see them.

no, i played casual and checked his inv. and it was emty.

My point stands there should be more reporting topics you can report people for specific things.

Even if you do report it for that,how would someone determine that? You can't do overwatch for that right xD
