Forcing yourself to use a sensitivity and DPI you don't enjoy using and have not ever used in a long time is just hurting yourself.
Some players like me come from playing with high sensitivities and I still play on 800 DPI 1.2 sensitivity w/mouse accel. Simply because we do better with it and trying to use a lower sensitivity is almost impossible for us, like you said.
Now I play 1080p, 400DPI @ 1.5* ingame
Just lower to where you feel it’s playable, then gradually adjust lower every week.
Best is to use native sensor resolution, if your mouse allready multiplies your native by 2 or 3, it also multiplies sensor inaccuracies.
Play for a week and lower to next sens.
Keep in mind the size of your mouse surface is important. The lower you go the bigger you want the surface. Really don't want to have to lift mouse up mid turn.
I'm at 600dpi and 0.85 ingame sens. Now thats pretty low. Using a average size mouse pad I'd need to lift mouse. I use a large deskmat that cover my entire desk so don't have that issue. You don't need a deskmat. But I do recommend a larger surface the lower your dpi and sensitvity goes.
Play with whatever feels good no need to follow someone else's set up.
Srsly look at s1mple he plays with like 1200 edpi and he has probably the best aim of any player in the world. If u r comfortable with high dpi don't change it
