1280x1024 vs 1024x768
So I have played 1280x1024 for a long time and i tried to switch to 1024x768, but it was so disgusting. Couldnt see any faces at 10 meters and it seemed like minecraft to me. So Im asking. Why are pro gamers playing on 1024x768 more often. Even if in 1280x1024 you see people wider (easier to shot) and the graphics isnt that bad.

That is the problem with comp and PC gaming in general. Someone will always have a advantage over you when playing due to having different setup.

Lower resolution makes everything bigger and easyer to hit. I think all players should be forced to play comp with same resolutions and same FOV (got my head on the chopping board now). If people are playing less resolutions they should be grouped up with people using the same specs.

Comp should mean fair play. All setups should be places together, the 1920x1080 crowd together, 800v600 crowd together and so on. I believe it would separate the men from the boys or the women from the girls.

Inn my own opinion, they is no real excuse for any PC gamer these days to be using anything lower than 1680x1059. Anyway guys im off out for the day bye...

Lower resolution does not make anything bigger and thus easier to hit. Hits are calculated by crosshair angles and hitboxes on the server. Contrast may be better though since less pixels make less of a gradual change in contrast.

That's stupid. Every game or sport has people using different settings that better suit them. From grip/handle of a tennis racket to other accesories.
There are advantages and disatvantages to resolutions/fov. FOv on wide is ♥♥♥♥ , you see people walk past eachother in pro games, cuz of small fov. It helps you with aiming horizontaly. Hard to hit guys behind cover, easyer on 16:9 when their heads aren't so small. Blabla.
Its just personal prefference.

It's not even the prefered resolution of PRO's. Most play black bars wich is 16:9 but lower fov. Followed by stretched, then 16:10 and 16:9.

I did the opposite. Always was 1920 16:9. Tried stretched for 3 months, went back to 1920.
I just got used to that, no real difference tho, very situational.

just give me some examples of really good players who play 1920x1080 full hd without any bars etc . I know only Shroud back in the days played like this on pro level, may be Stewie but anyway there are quiet few others playing in others resolution and it has some reasons
