How many cases (and which cases) will it take to defensively get the dragon lore?

You can only get it thorugh trade up contract using at least 1 M4A1-S Knight or through opening Souvenir Cases.

The cases are Cobblestone package.

and the chances of getting one is 10% if you are using only 1 M4a1-s Knight. So it's 10% chances per 1 knight.

To be honest, you're better off buying it.
To do a trade-up with 100% chance, you'd need 10 M4A1-S Knight. They're starting at €220 a piece.

AWP | Dragon Lore MW starts from €1336 atm.

Hmm.. the souvenir packages are fixed gifts. It's not just a luck based random unbox.
If someone lucky has bought the right box, the rest of the 900 boxes won't be giving you a DL.

Ex_dre is right in this sense. It can be over 9000.
