Just so Y'all know. MP5 is the exact same as the MP7.
Ok, well not %100, but a good %99

Warowl video demonstrated the differences is that the MP5 is a silenced version of the MP7, and the damage the MP5 does is 27 damage, where as the MP7 does 29 damage.

So everyone who wanted to see the MP5 from the old days, really didn't get a new gun, they just got a silenced version of the MP7 with a different look.

Everything else about these 2 guns are exactly the same right down to the spray pattern.

So gear up everyone and start making valve rich again by buying new skins for this version.

All aside, I am one of those who wanted to see the MP5 return to the game. But not as a copy replacement for a current gun.

What would you like to see? I mean the old mp5's certainly dont deserve a place in csgo and bringing a new weapon into the already well saturated smg segment is probably not that easy.

I think its ok what they did, even tho its simply to please a certain part of the community.

Indeed, I can agree with you. The mp5 did have a nasty learning curve, but once you got it, it was the go to eco weapon. It was great pretty much at short distances, so any team on an eco didn't go out and run and gun. It forced you to play smart or die being an idiot hahaha. Unlike the guns now, where you can use smgs, for mid range and run all over the place.

It's fine for me anyway since I am more inclined to use the mp7 as an eco gun over the p90 or bizon.

Maybe I am just nostalgic from the ole days of 1.6 and source.

That wasnt really what I was going for. The mp5 from 1.6 and css are way too random. They dont require any skill, you just spray and pray. There was no way to play them in a skilled way.
Csgo's smgs however are way more controlleable and way more accurate and way less random which promotes skilled playstyles, it also promotes a few stupid playstyle like jump shooting etc...sadly

Well they were for sure not run and gun guns. Again, good for short distances in burst. I didn't see them being too random. Agreed, I had many spray and pray moments too, but again, they weren't that bad. But also, the last time I placed source was a good 10 years ago.

And yes sadly, jump shooting, shooting on ladders. If I remember, there was a time if you were on a ladder, you could not shoot at all/or you crosshairs were really open max so you did not have a stable shot. This stopped people camping on ladders, and in reality, who runs up a ladder while shooting. Then again, jumping off the roof in assualt doesn't kill you either.
