I think its ok what they did, even tho its simply to please a certain part of the community.
Indeed, I can agree with you. The mp5 did have a nasty learning curve, but once you got it, it was the go to eco weapon. It was great pretty much at short distances, so any team on an eco didn't go out and run and gun. It forced you to play smart or die being an idiot hahaha. Unlike the guns now, where you can use smgs, for mid range and run all over the place.
It's fine for me anyway since I am more inclined to use the mp7 as an eco gun over the p90 or bizon.
Maybe I am just nostalgic from the ole days of 1.6 and source.
Did you read my first line of my comment?
That wasnt really what I was going for. The mp5 from 1.6 and css are way too random. They dont require any skill, you just spray and pray. There was no way to play them in a skilled way.
Csgo's smgs however are way more controlleable and way more accurate and way less random which promotes skilled playstyles, it also promotes a few stupid playstyle like jump shooting etc...sadly
Nostalgia can blind you ;)
Well they were for sure not run and gun guns. Again, good for short distances in burst. I didn't see them being too random. Agreed, I had many spray and pray moments too, but again, they weren't that bad. But also, the last time I placed source was a good 10 years ago.
And yes sadly, jump shooting, shooting on ladders. If I remember, there was a time if you were on a ladder, you could not shoot at all/or you crosshairs were really open max so you did not have a stable shot. This stopped people camping on ladders, and in reality, who runs up a ladder while shooting. Then again, jumping off the roof in assualt doesn't kill you either.
