Having random lag spikes in CS:GO inspite of having a laptop being able to handle the game at max settings with a min of 110 FPS
Before I say anything, I'll mention my laptop core specs.

Model: Acer Aspire A715-71G-7922
Processor: Intel Core i7 - 7700HQ 2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost upto 3.8GHz
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB GDDR5 Dedicated VRAM
RAM: 16 GB (8GB + 8GB)
Storage Capacity: 1000 GB HDD
The display is a FULL HD one supporting 1080p resolution.
It has poor battery life.

I got the laptop recently for $900 with 1 year warranty (not international). Is it worth the price?

I run the game at 1080p resolution at max settings and 110 - 170 FPS (sometimes it goes high) in game. But at times, I've noticed random lag spikes in the game where my FPS drops to around 30-40. I don't think this happens due to someone throwing smoke or because of multiple people shooting. As I said, it appears to be random. This apparently happens only in CS:GO (not noticed it anywhere else).

Any reason why this might be happening? Have any solutions?

If your max is 90fps, it is normal. Smokes and other effects requires more graphics power. It will drop your fps to 30-40. As it's below 60fps, your eyes will witness graphics lag. It'd be restored when there are lesser movements or graphics effect.

The solution is to reduce shadow quality, and it's better to remove all effects. You only need model texture to be high to enjoy the skins.

shader medium (or was it high?) for the fancy fake 3d on some skins as well... but i mean how often would you notice that ingame :P

but yeah better turn everything down, it may even help you playing since A your aim will be more responsive with more fps and B it helps with visibility^^

No, I get a min of 110 FPS. It is usually at around 130 - 170 FPS. The lag spikes are really random and not because of somebody throwing smoke. I'll word my thread better.

wlan optimizer?? Sounds like some tool which will fix internet related issues.
The issue here is with FPS.

Maybe play in 4:3 mode with blackbars, 1440:1080

Works for me, but I’m used to it because 1.6

Actually if you go to nividia panel and then for to 3d section, make sure to switch the power management to full not power saving.

It's set to prefer maximum performance and not battery saving.
