CSGO footsteps incredibly low
Were they always this low? It feels like the footsteps were louder a few years ago! Almost cant hear steps at all, really frustrating.

AWP shots point blank to the dome makes me deaf, but the footsteps are like 5-10% of the gunshots volume. Really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying :S

Its like 32 degrees outside, and i cant even have my deskfan at "low" setting, cause then i wont be able to hear footsteps. Even the sounds from my teammates buying grenades in spawn is louder than the footsteps :s

gonn hae to mess with sound settings in DM or something to find the best balance for you. be sure to check your windows sound settings as well to ensure nothing there is affecting it.

its the default sound settings, nothing is messed with. Ive heard that d0cc is using some program to make certain sounds appear lower, while footsteps will be louder. Maybe ill try that.

Wish valve would make option to increase footsteps/gun volume so you could make your own perfect mix. Impossible to play with any background noise in your house or with music if you actually wanna hear footsteps.

ive tried. Turning off HRTF helps, but makes it harder to hear the exact position the enemies are coming from. But its still quiet compared to how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the gun shots are

check windows levels, change in game levels etc. a number of things could be the reason. just a case of trial and error.

have turned them up to max. Its not that the volume is low. The volume is VERY LOUD! Its just taht CSGO is a complete ♥♥♥♥ game when it comes to sounds, so its VERY LOUD when people are shooting and hurts my ear, but i CANNOT hear people run if they are more than 10 cm away from me, its so incredibly quiet

This is kind of relevant but also kind of not, but there's a certain setting (accessible through console) that allows you to choose the proximity at which you hear things. You choose your personal balance of the distance you want to first hear things against the sensitivity with which you can tell what that distance is. I can't remember how much it affects footstep volume, if at all, but it could help you somehow.
I'm not hiding the exact command deliberately; I genuinely can't remember exactly what it's called, only what it does. Sorry.
